Is the Florida BDI course fully approved?
Yes. Our 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement course is fully approved by the Florida DHSMV and accepted by all Florida courts for ticket dismissal and point reduction.
How long does the course take to complete?
The course is a minimum of 4 hours and is fully self-paced. You can start and stop anytime — there is no timer or deadline to finish in one sitting.
Can I take the course on my phone or tablet?

What if I don't pass the final exam on the first try?
No problem. The final exam is open-book with unlimited retakes at no extra charge until you pass.
Will this course dismiss my traffic ticket or remove points?
If you elect the BDI course for an eligible ticket, it can prevent points from being added to your record and may allow dismissal of the citation (check with your court). It does not remove existing points.
How is my completion reported?
We report your completion electronically to the FLHSMV. If your court requires a certificate, you can print or email the one we provide. Reporting usually occurs within 1–2 business days.
How many times can I take the BDI course?
Florida law allows you to take an approved BDI course up to 5 times in your lifetime for point reduction or ticket dismissal.
Can I get an insurance discount by taking this course?
Many insurance companies offer discounts (often 5–10%) for completing an approved driver improvement course. Contact your insurer to confirm eligibility.
Is there a time limit to complete the course after enrolling?
You have 60–90 days from enrollment (check your court deadline). Most students finish much faster.
What if I have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)?
In most cases, CDL holders cannot use the standard BDI course for certain violations. Contact us or your court for guidance.
